This privacy policy explains what data the "Track and Save Keywords from GOOGLE SERP" Chrome extension ("the extension") accesses, how it is used, and how it is stored.

Summary

This extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any user data with the developer or any third party. All data it creates stays locally on your own device, inside your own browser.

What the extension does

The extension lets you check the position at which a specified domain appears in Google's public search results for a keyword you enter. To do this, it:

Opens a background browser tab and loads Google search result pages for the keyword you provide
Reads the visible content of those Google search result pages (result links and titles) to determine ranking position
Saves the keyword, domain, and result (position, date, and matched URL) you searched for, so you can view your history and re-run past checks

The extension does not access your browsing history outside of the Google search tabs it opens itself, does not access personal Google account data, and does not read or modify any page other than the Google search result pages it opens as part of a check you initiate.

Where data is stored

All saved keywords, domains, and history are stored using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API. This data:

Stays only on your local device
Is never transmitted to the developer, to Google, or to any third-party server
Is not synced across devices unless you manually export/import it
Can be permanently deleted at any time using the "Remove" button in the extension, or by removing the extension entirely (which clears its local storage)

Third parties

The extension does not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only external service it interacts with is Google Search (google.com), which it accesses the same way your browser normally would when you search manually. Your interaction with Google's search results is subject to Google's own Privacy Policy, independent of this extension.

Permissions used

tabs — to open and navigate a background tab to load Google search result pages
scripting — to read the content of those search result pages and determine ranking position
storage — to save your keyword/domain history locally on your device
host_permissions (google.com) — required so the extension can read the Google search result pages it opens

Children's privacy

This extension is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children, since it does not collect data at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
